Scholarships
                HVRHS
      Alumni Association

The HVRHS Alumni Association Scholarship program originated in 1998 funded by selling HVRHS souvenir pins and from annual alumni membership dues of five dollars. Now, as all HVRHS graduates automatically become members of the Alumni Association, scholarships are funded by the generous donations from alumni and
friends.
The first scholarships were awarded to two graduates in 1999 in the amount of $150 each. In 2002, the scholarship was increased to a single $300 award. Since then, the award has steadily increased with recent awards being $1,000 per student. The scholarship awards now vary annually depending on the number of awardees and the funds available.

The Alumni Association awards one or more scholarships each year to eligible seniors who:

1) have attended HVRHS for all four years,

2) had parents or grandparents who graduated from HVRHS, and

3) have been accepted by an institution of higher learning.

Applicants must complete the HVRHS Alumni Association Scholarship form and the HVRHS Local Scholarship Common Application, both available from the Guidance Department. Selections are made by a committee of Alumni Board members. The scholarships are one-time awards and are not renewable.
