Back in 1939 when HVRHS opened, the school seal that is above the doors to the school in the main vestibule depicts the facade of the school with mountains in the background and a clock in the cupola. Story has it that for cost reasons the clock was cut out of the project. The cupola in recent years had fallen into disrepair and a facelift was needed. Part of the building project referendum was to allocate funds to rehab the cupola and to add a clock that was originally part of the 1939 project.
